In an international reality that is dramatic because of conflicts that are increasingly linked so as to result in a WWIII in a globalized society, because of the lack of courage in seeking dialogue and peace, and because of the difficult recognition of the infinite dignity of every human life in all its phases, this year’s display of the Chair of Peter from Oct. 27 to the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 is a gesture of devotion, hope and unity.
This book, edited by St. Peter’s Papal Basilica, is a small map to continually convert us to Christian love, including through the history and spirituality expressed by the symbol of the Petrine primacy, a primacy of service and charity. And also to show, with the beauty of the images, how this relic with great care is guarded by the work, faith and passion of the community of the Fabric of St. Peter.
